I sit here in my wheelchair, my body broken, but my mind is still well, I watch the world go by, and I wonder why.
I can’t walk, I can’t run, I can’t even hold a pen, I’m trapped inside this body, That’s no longer my own.
I’m a prisoner in my own home, I can’t even go to the store, I’m dependent on others, For everything I do.
I’m angry, I’m frustrated, I’m scared, I’m alone, I don’t know what the future holds, but I know I’ll never be the same.
I’m a quadriplegic, but I’m not a victim, I’m a survivor, and I will never give up.
