This Weight

A weight unseen, a shadow cast, This feeling lingers, grips me fast. A burden carried, heavy heart, A constant thought that tears me apart.

They say kind words, with gentle touch, But doubt remains, I fear too much. Am I a drag, a darkened cloud, A weight that pulls them down, unbowed?

I see the love in eyes that shine, A silent plea, a hopeful sign. Perhaps my worth’s not all in vain, A tender light that soothes the pain.

A single bloom, though fragile, small, Can grace a garden, stand up tall. My purpose waits, a seed to sow, A strength I hold, I yet don’t know.

So I’ll take heart, with trembling hand, And mend the cracks within this land. For even shadows have their place, A silent dance, a hidden grace.
